The writers of the constitution of the United States of
America were dreamers, they really were. They actually dreamed of the day when
people could actually determine their own destinies without the consent of a
king. They saw themselves as the sovereigns who would relegate some specific
authority to a government that would have well defined limits that would be
spelled out in such a way that everyone would understand those limits and keep
them in check so that the people would never again be subjected to punishment for
things they said or gathering together to discuss issues or punished for
worshiping as their conscience guided them. There were specific grievances that
they wanted to address and did so through the Constitution of the United States and the Bill of Rights.
They did catch that dream and put it into practice—the first
time in history it had been done. But little by little the rights that our
forefathers fought and died for have been eroded. Each generation is
responsible for keeping our Republic strong. We have failed miserably. We have no
one to blame but ourselves for not recognizing the threat and doing something
about it.
In our defense, the threat did start before most of us were even born. It
began with Jekyll Island and the usurpation of our government by a small cabal
of very powerful bankers. In 1913 they
used Wilson and those in congress to get the Federal Reserve and the Income Tax
passed into law during Christmas break when most of congress was out of town. Our
people have adapted to the declining dollar that steals from thrifty Americans.
Inflation is built into the system and will get worse the faster they print up
more dollars.
Now we are told that some businesses are too big to fail and
that government must step in and save them or the whole economy will fall
apart. This by definition is not capitalism because in capitalism there is no such thing as too big to fail. It is at this point that we must look ourselves in the mirror and be
honest about the fact that we have let our Republic slip right through our
fingers and in its place stands a fascistic government, one that is an
unhealthy alliance of corporations and government. Monopoly laws should have
prevented any corporation from ever becoming so big that they can’t be allowed
to fail or be prosecuted when they break the law. We must find a way to extricate
the government from corporations and stop the revolving door between government
positions and corporate positions that is corrupting everything to a very
dangerous degree.
If we want to return to the dream envisioned by our founding
fathers we must scrap the Federal Reserve System and go back to honest money. It isn’t too late to save America and watching
Rand Paul stand up to the Obama administration about the possible use of drones
against Americans on American soil is very encouraging. Maybe it will lead to a
larger dialog about the over reach of our government and how to go about
putting it back within the boundaries that were set up for it by the writers of
the Constitution; but, it is up to us to see to it that it happens. Government
by its very nature continually expands and it is up to us to keep it in its proper place
in the scheme of things.
Hopefully Rand Paul has finally awoken the sleeping giant and the union will turn in the right direction.
ReplyDeleteSkynet is more than sci-fi, it is coming together right before our very eyes. If people do not stand up and say enough is enough and take back their Constitution, they are telling those in powerful positions that they agree with what they are doing.
